Happy Thursday, Y’all! Does it ever feel a bit overwhelming to keep up with the news these days? I always try my best to adopt a daily positive outlook — focusing on the good as much as I can — but some days this can be a tough task with all of the crazy things happening around the world!
However, I am happy to say that there was something extra positive to come out of the news this week: The state announced that all adults in Texas are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine (even for those without insurance)! Now, THIS is the type of good news I like to see on my feed.
What seems like serendipitous timing, I was able to get my first dose of the vaccine this week. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was a simple process, and the only issue I had post-shot was a bit of a sore arm that went away after a day. Easy-peasy. And interestingly enough, my second dose is scheduled on my birthday! What better present could I ask for than the gift of a safer livelihood ahead for myself and those around me?
As vaccines become more readily available and COVID cases continue to decline, I think the “good news” we can all focus on right now is brighter days ahead. For once, it feels like there’s a little light at the end of the tunnel of the darkness that was 2020 — where our beloved social events, maskless greetings and big group hugs will greet us once again (hopefully) soon. And THAT’s something to smile about..."even if you don’t want to" :).
If you already got the vaccine, I’d love to hear about your experience! And if you or someone you know is looking to buy or sell in Austin or anywhere else in the US — don’t hesitate to reach out! I'm always here to help in every way I can.
