Happy Thursday, Y’all! I admit that I have a serious love affair with Austin. Even with all of the recent change and growth, the character and spirit of Austin is still here.
On Monday night after dinner, John and I stopped in on our old favorite neighborhood establishment, Donn's Depot. If you've never been, you need to go! We walked in the door and they were charging a $10 cover, which is unusual. It turns out that not only was Bobby Boudin and Crystal Blue Persuasion (aka SHINYRIBS!) playing, but it was still completely decorated for the holidays with lights everywhere! Since they were closed for the holidays, they wanted to let their patrons enjoy some holiday cheer upon reopening. How fun is that? It was an incredible show with a crowd of people ranging from their 20's to their 90's and SO authentically Austin! These are the moments that I can't help but be grateful for. After all of the craziness this past year, it's nice to feel a bit of normalcy again and feel reconnected with the city I love.
I truly hope you all are getting back to experiencing some of your own pre-pandemic treasured moments, too. And, as always, if you ever want to chat or need help with any real estate needs or insight, I'm always here!

Texas' Population Surges, According to 2020 Census
|
With the exponential growth we’ve seen in Austin alone these past few years, it’s no surprise that Texas — as a whole — is near the top of the fastest-growing states in the U.S.!
Recent data from the U.S. Census revealed that Texas ranks #3 for percentage population growth from 2010 to 2020, following behind Utah (#1) and Idaho (#2).
"Texas crossed the 29 million resident mark in 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau said Monday, giving the state two more seats in the U.S. House and raising Lone Star political clout in presidential elections and Congress for the next decade,” says Austin American-Statesman.
"That growth made Texas the only state to add two seats in Congress, though five others gained one seat — Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina and Oregon.”
Get the entire coverage on these Census numbers from Austin American-Statesman’s article here.
