Happy Saturday, Y’all! It’s that time of the year again — SXSW is officially in full swing. If you didn’t get tickets this year but still want to take advantage of seeing or attending some cool events, here’s a great and thorough list of FREE events to check out from the official SXSW event site.
Now if you’re on the other side of wanting to escape from the SXSW festivities (and huge crowds) altogether, then keep reading below for an article I’ve shared from CultureMap Austin that includes a lot of fun, non-SXSW related events and things to do this weekend and upcoming week. Also,
another big event to consider is Rodeo Austin, which kicks off this weekend too and is a great family-friendly alternative for those not wanting to be a part of SXSW!

Preservation Austin Homes Tour Announces Return to In-Person Format

There’s no place like home, and Preservation Austin’s annual Homes Tour is coming back in a big, in-person way.
In celebration of the Preservation Austin’s 70th birthday and 30th tour, the Homes Tour will present almost double the dwellings.
The event — the nonprofit’s biggest attraction and annual fundraiser — will return to its traditional in-person format for the first time since 2019 from Saturday, April 22-Saturday, April 23.
This year’s tour is city-wide, so Preservation Austin Executive Director Lindsey Derrington said she hopes 'everybody in Austin can see something of themselves' along the way," says ATX Today.
