Happy Friday, Y’all! It was exactly a year ago when SXSW announced it was cancelling its 2020 events. That was the first indication I remember that Austin wouldn't be escaping this crisis. It was also that weekend that John and I found our new home. While the start of the pandemic certainly caused us some apprehension with our purchase, looking back, I can say with certainty that it was the right home at the right time for our family. I say that not because our home value has increased, but because it's been a place for our family to deepen our relationships, explore new passions and share so many meaningful memories.
This year has also brought unexpected events and the most competitive market I've seen so far in Austin, Texas. Despite all of that, our lives must go on. The timing of buying and selling real estate should always be based on the needs of your family at the time as opposed to trying to time the market perfectly.
