Happy Thursday, Y’all! With Halloween coming up next weekend and Thanksgiving around the corner, the bustling holidays are here! Before you know it, we’ll be ringing in the New Year. I know it's a bit early to be thinking about New Year’s celebrations, it is not, however, too early to think ahead into 2022 when it comes to Austin real estate and the housing market!
One of the best pieces of advice I’d like to give at this moment for anyone looking to buy in the area is to take action and start your home buying journey now rather than waiting, as there’s typically a buying rush at the start of the New Year. The Austin market stats for September (see below!) are here and the continued market stabilization is a plus for buyers. As for sellers? We are still looking at very low inventory and continued low interest rates, so it’s ideal to take advantage of this great selling timeframe too. (Also, with the recent news of Tesla’s HQ officially coming to Austin and other tech-firm developments that are underway, housing demand is only expected to increase from here and on into 2022).

The ABOR's Austin Housing Market Report for September is here,
showing the latest year-over-year (YOY) housing insight for the city of Austin.
While the median sales price is up from last
September and active listings are down, the market continues to stabilize. Even with a slight cooling off period that started at the end of summer, the market is still strong and inventory is still currently very low, which remains advantageous for both potential buyers and sellers!
