Happy Thursday, Y’all! You may be tired of hearing how “hot” the Austin real estate market is right now, and frankly, I am too! However, based on some of the conversation I’m hearing out there, I feel it is important to come out and make a statement for all of you and your loved ones who may have plans to buy a new home in Austin. Are you ready? OK. Here are three hard truths potential homebuyers must understand…
-
Prices are not going down, and the market is not going to soften anytime soon.
-
The demand is not going to let up for at least another few years and likely longer.
-
NOW is the time to buy, especially if your budget is $600,000 or less.
There...I said it, and you can’t say you didn’t hear it from me! While prices are higher than they were before, they are only going higher. There is NO place like Austin...although it would have been nice to hold onto that secret just a little bit longer. :)
If you have questions about the market or what is going on in your neighborhood, let’s talk (sooner than later)!

What You Need to Know About Home Appraisal Protests
|
It’s that time of the year again — the appraisal notices are out for Travis County, Hays County and Williamson County! Because of the dramatic market changes we’ve seen this past year, many are seeing higher median home values.
It’s important to know that if you bought a home last year and your appraised value is more than you paid, or if you think the value is too high, then you can complete a protest form online.
From there, you can try and reach a settlement with TCAD, HCAD or WCAD informally, or if it’s not initially approved, then you can request to have a formal hearing in front of the Appraisal Review Board.
The deadline to send in your online protest form for Travis County or Hays County is May 17th, and for Williamson County, the deadline is May 12th.
Click the links below for more detailed information on the protest process as well as where to submit your online protest form.
