Celebrating Independence Day + Market News

Happy Wednesday, Y'all! I hope this finds you healthy and at home. Just as soon as we adjusted to this new situation and COVID-19 cases seemed stable in Austin, here we go again on another roller coaster. It saddens me to see our cases increase like they have over the last week. I believe we'll be riding waves of this until we see a vaccine, so we may as well buckle up for the ride! This kind of stress can really take its toll, and I hope you're taking extra measures to take care of yourself.

Some of the things I'm focusing on are:

Drinking more water
Exercising regularly
Drinking less (yes, this one's tough!)
Lots of talking about what's in my head
Spending time outdoors with family
Calling loved ones to check in

Independence Day Weekend

Happy Birthday to the United States! This weekend marks 244 years since the signing of the

Declaration of Independence!

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the traditional Fourth of July concert and fireworks show at Auditorium Shores is cancelled in Austin this year. I am looking for new and fun ways to celebrate safely, and I've shared

Neighboring Fireworks Displays

Even with Austin's celebration cancelled, fireworks are just a short drive away! Several nearby cities like Dripping Springs have coordinated fireworks shows that are able to be enjoyed while social distancing. Click here to read more about local fireworks shows.

Tons of Austin restaurants are offering Fourth of July specials for takeout and delivery. Whether you're looking for some amazing barbecue or a lobster dinner for two, this list from Eater Austin has options for everyone!

Backyard Fun

Stay Cool in the Heat

Market Updates

The market still appears hot with multiple offers on most transactions we've been a part of. In the City of Austin, the pending listings are still outpacing the new listings and more homes are selling. I speculate we'll see some cooling off with the increased number of cases, but no one really knows. One thing has become obvious to me: No one can predict what will happen. Okay, two things. Everybody now knows this to be true.
