Austin Leads the Nation in Economic Recovery
While Austin lost 128,600 jobs this past March and April due mostly to COVID-19, steady growth since then has brought back close to 114,000 of those jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This upward swing puts Austin at the top for economic recovery!
"Austin’s year-over-year decline of 1.1%, or 12,800 jobs, makes it the best performing among the 50 largest metro areas,” says the Austin Chamber in one of their November 2020 Central Texas Economy Reports.
