Happy Thursday, Y’all! It has been a rainy week here in Austin, and from what I’m seeing, it's looking to continue this way through the weekend. But the good news is that are some really awesome events taking place indoors this weekend! I’ve shared my favorites in the weekend guide below, including a May shopping market featuring handmade goods from top local Austin artists, and also, the Blanton Museum of Art’s opening celebration to unveil their newly designed grounds — which looks incredible!
We also can’t forget about Mother’s Day coming up this Sunday, so if you don’t already have any plans and are looking for the perfect spot to celebrate, I’ve included a great list of local restaurants below that are ideal for a fun Mother’s Day brunch outing!

Another Company Joins Tesla in Austin’s Race to Become the Autonomous Vehicle Capital

"Sweden-based Einride has opened its North American headquarters here, with plans to upend the multi-billion dollar trucking industry," says Austin Monthly.
"When you think of electric vehicles in Texas, Tesla may be the first company that springs to mind. But Swedish company Einride, which has developed a line of autonomous electric freight trucks, branched out into North America in 2021 with a center of operations here in Austin. The growing team of engineers includes North American manager Niklas Reinedahl, who touts Einride’s plans to 'disrupt the freight mobility market.' The company has already deployed autonomous trucks in General Electric Appliance’s sprawling business park in Tennessee and even on adjacent public roads as operators in Austin oversee the vehicles and address any problems remotely."
