Happy Friday, Y’all! I have some extra pressing news to share this week — the Federal Housing Finance Authority officially released the 2022 conforming loan limits, and it has now been raised a whopping 18 percent from last year to $647,200 for single-family units. As much as we know how hot Austin’s real estate market has been this past year, the majority of the U.S. — particularly the top metro areas — saw a booming effect as well, which is why the FHFA increased these limits to fit these rising property values seen from 2021 (see the full data from the FHFA below).

Big news!
The Federal Housing Finance Agency has announced an increase in the maximum conforming mortgage loan limits for 2022 due to nationwide rising home prices we have seen this past year. Effective Jan. 1, 2022
, the conforming loan limits for much of the country will increase 18 percent from $548,250 to $647,200 for single-family homes.
For "high cost" areas, those in which 115 percent of the local median home value exceeds the baseline conforming loan limit, the applicable loan limit will be capped at $970,800,
